Here are some insights from people how have used our coaching
services to change their lives, enhance their careers:
ACADEMIC:
Debra,
Thank you for your support in the last year. Looking back at the goals I wanted
to accomplish, I see that they were, indeed, accomplished. I wanted to gain
momentum in the dissertation and reinstate in the doctoral program. And I have.
At this point, I've submitted 5 chapters of the dissertation draft and have
retaken the GRE and reapplied to the university. Projecting ahead, I look forward
to a spring or summer graduation in 2005. This is my new year's resolution.
While there will continue to be challenges, I have, with your help, successfully
reprogrammed my responses to these. Thank you for being a persistent voice
for my personal progress amidst the din of distracting and debilitating voices.
Your support has been a critical part of my success. Congratulations on your
success on my case!
Best Regards,
Doctoral Candidate

CREATIVITY:
Coaching has helped me reduce my anxiety about writing. And this got
me to begin to write, when I had been heavily dreading it. It has also
helped me be realistic about what I can accomplish and to be proud of
each accomplishment, even when small. More than anything, coaching has
changed my perspective about the dissertation process to one that I
think will allow me to complete the largest writing project I have ever
undertaken. I now see my dissertation in a whole new light--rather
than seeing it as this humongous, overwhelming project, I just try to
work on it a little at a time, but every day. I know that each little
bit will over time add up to a lot.

Ph.D.:
Participating in Debra's and Lillian's teleworkshop has been like a
'life-line' to me. Having had to move to a different city during the
course of my Ph.D. program, I felt cut off from my old support network.
The people in my teleworkshop have become an important part of my new
support community. I particularly enjoy the fact that the
workshops are about taking action. We even have homework to do!

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT:
The coaching has been invaluable in expanding my business. I have been able
to identify organize and prioritize my goals and then actively move towards
them. The coaching has been supportive, practical, action-oriented and the
accountability has helped me avoid the "paralysis of analysis". I wish I had
received coaching when I was working on my dissertation!"

GROUP COACHING:
What I like best about Debra Brown and Lillian Steinmann's
dissertation coaching groups is that they present a prepared theme
(e.g., gremlins) as well as follow-up homework for the group each
week. The coaching sessions, therefore, always feel focused and
purposeful. Debra and Lillian also allow for plenty of sharing and
support throughout the week. I highly recommend joining their coaching
group to help take the isolation out of the dissertation process.

TENURE - PUBLISH OR PERISH:
As a tenure-track assistant professor at a research university, I was under tremendous pressure to "publish or perish." The tenure clock was ticking and I needed to finish a book manuscript quickly and efficiently. Coaching with Debra helped me to keep my efforts focused and organized.
I am very happy to report that I completed the book and had it accepted for publication. I have also just learned that my bid for tenure and promotion has been successful. I would strongly recommend coaching for anyone who has to structure, conduct, and complete large, potentially overwhelming projects under serious time constraints.
